Historic milestones for Sahibzada Farhan at the 2026 T20 World Cup
Sahibzada Farhan played a stunning unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 58 balls to propel Pakistan to 199/3 in 20 overs. He reached his century in 57 deliveries, making him the fastest T20 World Cup hundred by a Pakistani player. Earlier, Ahmed Shehzad had taken 58 balls for his century against Bangladesh in 2014.
With this innings, Farhan also became only the second Pakistani after Shehzad to score a hundred in the history of the T20 World Cup. Farhan started slowly and scored at a strike rate of almost 110. But once he felt comfortable, he completely changed his approach.

He attacked the bowlers all over the ground and finished with 11 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of over 170. During this knock, Farhan also broke Mohammad Rizwan’s record for the highest individual score by a Pakistani batsman against Namibia in a T20 World Cup match.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s funny take on Farhan’s knock goes viral
It also became the best T20I score of the Pakistan opener’s career. During the innings break, Yuzvendra Chahal made a light-hearted and funny comment on the show. He said that after this performance, Farhan might soon have another documentary made about himself and joked that the Namibian bowlers should also get a role in it.
Speaking on Star Sports’ break show, Chahal said: “There will be another documentary. I hope he gives a role to the Namibian bowlers in the documentary.”
The joke was linked to an earlier short film that was made after Farhan defeated Jasprit Bumrah with three sixes in the 2025 Asia Cup. However, India had also won that match in Dubai.
Pakistan beats Namibia by 102 runs to secure Super Eight spot at 2026 T20 World Cup
Meanwhile, Pakistan kept their 2026 T20 World Cup campaign alive with a huge 102-run win over Namibia in Colombo at the Sinhalese Sports Club grounds on Wednesday. It was a do-or-die match for them. A defeat would have knocked them out of the tournament, but they delivered under pressure.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Pakistan posted a strong total of 199 for 3. The star of the evening was Sahibzada Farhan. Sahibzada Farhan was able to absorb the early pressure and later attacked freely to bring the score close to 200. Namibia started well with the ball and kept things tight in the first few overs.
But after the eighth over, Pakistan switched gears. The batters started finding boundaries regularly and did not let the bowlers settle down. In response, Namibia struggled against the Pakistani bowling attack and could not match the required run rate.
Wickets kept falling and the chase never really got off the ground. Pakistan finished the match comfortably, winning by 102 runs and sealing their place in the Super Eight stage. Now, India and Pakistan have qualified for the Super 8 round from Group A.
