Former Pakistan Wicketkeeper Rashid Latif responded to the T20i skipper of Team India Suryakumar Yadav that there is no more rivalry between the two nations in Cricket. Latif stated that the rivalry on the field will always remain as long as tensions and conflicts exist between the two countries.
India will be confronted with Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday 28 September.
In particular, it will be the very first final between the two teams in the 41-year history of the Asia Cup. Pakistan has lost both encounters against India in the current eight-team tournament.

India will continue to win, that’s no problem – Rashid Latif
Rashid Latif said that the cricket rivement between India and Pakistan will continue as long as there are political tensions between the nations. However, the cricket player expert stated that India dominated on the field.
“There will be rivalry. Jab Tak Jung Hai Tab Tab Cricket Ki Rivalry Rahegi. Ye Khatam Nahi Hogi (as long as there is war, there will be rivalry in Cricket. It will not end),” said Latif as he spoke with the time of India.
“But yes, India will continue to win. That’s no problem. But there will always be rivalry. It will continue,” Latif added.
The disadvantage will be for India – ex -Pakistan Schipper
Rashid Latif stated that Pakistan will enter the game as underdogs with little to lose, while the pressure will be heavier on India. He added that a victory in Pakistan would increase the pressure on the BCCI and the players.
“The disadvantage will be for India. India has everything to lose. Pakistan has nothing to lose, they are already underdogs,” Latif continued.
“If Pakistan wins here, it will be very difficult for BCCI and also for some players who are very pronounced about this tournament, whether it is the captain’s explanation, the attitude of the board or the tweet of Shubman Gill,” he added.
Haris Rauf fined by ICC for controversial gesture in Super 4 Clash
The Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan in Dubai is overshadowed by controversies outside the field. India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, reportedly refused to participate in the photo shoot of the traditional captains on the eve of the collision.
Earlier in the tournament, Indian players fought hands after their victory of the group stage, while Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha skipped the presentation ceremony.
In their second meeting, Haris Rauf was fined for aggressive behavior and Sahaibzada Farhan received a warning for his celebration.
Suryakumar Yadav was also punished for comments regarding the Pahalgam attack. India has already defeated Pakistan twice in this edition. This is in particular the very first Asia cup final between the arch rivals, which takes place in a charged atmosphere.
India stood for injuries for the final, while Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya struggled with cramps during the last Super Fours match against Sri Lanka. Both players spent considerable time outside the field, but were made available to play in the title conflict.
