Tennis star Maria Sakkari believed that during her match at the Washington open a bug had come, just to see the critter popping a little later.
The Greek player was in action against the American rival Emma Navarro in the last 16 of the event.
Sakkari delayed the game shortly after spotting a bug on the field, with the 29-year-old bending and carefully picking it up.
The bug ran on Sakkari’s hand while she walked calmly to the back of the field before she tried to blow it away.
Sakkari eventually placed the bug with the star in the hope of having taken him away from damage as the game progressed.
“Good work by Sakkari takes care of the local animals in the wild,” the commentator noted.

However, images showed that the postponement of the bug was only a temporary one.

The incident led to surprised reactions from both Sakkari and the commentator.
