The added depth of the pelicans will be extremely valuable to start next season

Since Joe Dumars entered the Front Office of Pelicans, one of his most important focus was to add depth. Dumars came extremely aware of the earlier injury history of the Pelicans and felt that he had to add a play-off schedule, he had to add instead of going on a star hunt. Adding depth seemed to be the goal, and it was achieved when New Orleans brought in a lot of talent and players who are ready to contribute

With Djounde Murray, who set aside the year, the depth of the pelicans at Point Guard will help to keep them competitive. With Jaden Poole, Jaden Springer, Jose Alvarado and Jeremiah Fears, the loss of Murray will make less painful for the first few months of the season.

The same applies to the absence of Derik Queen. Who, after having sustained a wrist injury during his time in Vegas, who plays Summer League team for the Pelicanism, will probably spend on the sidelines with a training camp and preseason. This means that Queen does not have to be fully used to the pelican system and needs an adjustment period before he makes his debut. Well, both Herb Jones and Trey Murphy must be completely healthy and ready to start next season. They also both come from shoulder injuries. Which means that Willie Green is not inclined to play tough minutes early in the following season. And although the depth of the pelicans on the wing is not huge, Micah Peavy and Saddiq Bey will be great options early in the 2025-26 season.

It will all be hands on deck to start next season

Although I expect the pelicans to cut their rotation in the later half of the season to 8 or 9 players. At the start of this upcoming campaign, I expect that this team will win by the committee because of their abundance of important players who are injured or recovered.

I fully expect that Willie Green will give almost every player on the Roster on the Roster, which finds the hot hand and nourish it early in the following season and on a nocturnal basis.

The Pelicans have been their deepest selection since Zion Williamson has been to New Orleans, and as long as they stay within a .500 range when they become completely healthy, this team becomes special.
