The races will be held on the 12th and 14th races on Thursday, November 20.
Each division has a purse of $35,000. The 12th race was dominated by Dandy Ideal, who won wire to wire in the Matron Stakes for three-year-old stallion and gelding pacers at Bally’s Dover last week. He is the biggest danger and is the fastest in the race with a lifetime score of 1:48 and is the biggest money earner with over a million dollars in lifetime earnings. Hoosier Park invader Sugar Man should also be considered and comes in sharp with back-to-back wins there.
The 14th race competition is stacked and includes Captain Optimistic, who benefited from a perfect trip to finish second to Dandy Ideal last week. He has earned over a million dollars in his lifetime. Meadowlands Pace winner Madden Oaks ran wide in the final start of the Matron Stakes, finished off the board and looks to bounce back. The Huntsville product was upset in the Breeders Crown Final and had little chance to compete earlier.
Prince Hal Hanover is the fastest in this division with a score of 1:47.2 and is the top money earner with more than $1.1 million in lifetime earnings. He was previously placed second to eventual winner Madden Oaks in the Meadowlands Pace and may be looking for revenge in this race.
The first four horses in the official finishing order will compete in the Progress Pace Final, which will be held on Wednesday, November 26. The Progress Pace has an estimated value of $250,000.
There will be no live racing at Bally’s Dover on Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day).
Bally’s Dover races Monday through Thursday with a first race post at 4:30 p.m
