- Tesla is offering a new base trim for the Cybertruck, which has the same dual-motor all-wheel drive as the Premium model, but for $20,000 less.
- While the truck’s performance remains largely unchanged, Tesla has ditched the air suspension, rear passenger touchscreen, and leatherette upholstery.
- The entry-level Cybertruck starts at $62,235, and Tesla has also dropped the price of the Cyberbeast by $15,000 to $102,235.
Tesla’s offering is constantly changing. Last year, Tesla expanded the Cybertruck arsenal with a new entry-level variant with rear-wheel drive, only to scrap the model six months later. Now Tesla has created a new Cybertruck base, but this time the most affordable version of the wedge-shaped truck retains all-wheel drive and much of the same performance while costing much less.
The new variant is called Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and has a starting price of $62,235, making it a whopping $20,000 less than the existing all-wheel drive version, which is now called Premium. The two electric motors still produce 593 horsepower, and Tesla says the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive variant will sprint to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and can travel 525 miles on a charge, just like other dual-motor Cybertrucks. However, towing capacity does decrease from 11,000 pounds to 7,500 pounds.
While performance remains largely unchanged, Tesla has removed a number of features from the new base model to reduce the price by such a large margin. The entry-level Cybertruck ditches the air suspension of the more expensive models, although it still comes equipped with adaptive dampers. The new version also features the smaller 18-inch wheels, but customers can still upgrade to the 20-inch wheels for an additional $2,500, and the larger diameter doesn’t affect the estimated range.
While the base Cybertruck still has a motorized tonneau cover and three power outlets in the bed, it skips the two power outlets in the cabin, as well as the 9.4-inch screen for the rear passengers. The seats are also covered with fabric instead of artificial leather and the front seats are no longer ventilated. The sound system features seven speakers, compared to 15 in the Premium trim, and the trim also lacks active noise cancellation.
Along with the new base AWD model, Tesla also lowered the price of the top-of-the-line Cyberbeast model to what it cost before Tesla implemented a price increase in August 2025. The three-motor model now starts at $102,235, down from $15,000. As always with Tesla, we’ll see how long this updated lineup lasts until the automaker changes its mind again.
