Terence Crawford vs. Ilia Topuria does not look like a Matchup UFC CEO Dana White would like to book, or is it?
Crawford blinded boxing fans with his great performance against Canelo Alvarez last Saturday. Although the undisputed super middleweight title fight was not necessarily a wipeout, it was clear that “Bud” got a better from a colleague legend in Alvarez. Crawford also confirmed his estate with a unanimous decision victory, which improved his perfect pro-box record to 42-0.
Reigning UFC Lightweight Champion Ilia Topuria was closely ran and he exchanged Haken with Crawford after the fight. Although “Bud” seems like such a fight, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping believes that there is a chance that it can happen. “The Count” explained why in a new video on his Youtube -channel (Via Bloody elbow).
“Because two fan bases will coordinate,” said Bisping. “And that is what happened to the cash fight.
“You have all the boxing fans and then you have all the MMA fans, and of course you have Dana White in the middle.
“Dana just did business with Terence Crawford. Ilia is under contract with the UFC. So it’s not incredible to think about a world where this could happen.”
White has been consistent when it comes to his position on UFC hunters who want to try their hand in sweet science. Apart from a super fight in 2017 between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, White is against allowing his hunters in the world of boxing. Perhaps if Topuria White can convince that he could beat Crawford in a boxing match, things can change. Yet that seems like a steep hill to climb.
Crawford will be 38 years old on September 28 and when he fights again, his time in the ring figures are limited. Members of the Crawford camp, such as Shakur Stevenson, have already advised “Bud” to retire after his historical victory over Alvarez. As they say in the world of price feet, talk money.
