Taking a serious acquaintance of the language used in the petition, the bank led by supreme judge Br Gavai refused to accept the apology from the lawyer and try to withdraw the plea.

“You invite contempt against your client. Doing accusations against a sitting judge of the High Court,” the CJI noted, warning that lawyers who have their signatures on such petitions according to fixed laws are also liable for contempt.

“Before signing such a petition, it is not your duty as a responsible officer of the court to bring caution?” Asked the CJI, underlines that courts are duty to protect judicial integrity.

“We cannot allow judges that judges are placed in a box, while lawyers and parties feel free to make accusations,” the court noted.

With reference to precedent, the bank said that not only the parties, but also the lawyers involved in the preparation and submission of such scandalous content can be guilty of contempt.

The court rejected the attempt to withdraw the petition and stated: “When we expressed dissatisfaction with the language used, the counsel who had invoked himself. We are not inclined to allow this. The same is rejected.”
