Members of the community gathered around the family of a four -year -old girl who was killed by a falling palm tree in Darwin, donated with more than $ 94,000 to help them navigate “this time of in -depth sorrow”.
Lua Valles-Garcia was struck by the tree while playing in a garden in Tiwi, in the north of the city, and died as he was taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon.
The palm tree also met an 11-year-old boy, who said the police that long-term “non-lifferring injuries”.

The four-year-old and her brother had been students at the Milkwood Steiner School, where their mother, Soraya Valles-Garcia, worked as a teacher in the year 1.
Milkwood Steiner School -Director Netanela Mizrahi launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Lua’s family in the aftermath of the “tragic accident”.
“The grief is inscrutable”
the director said.
“Funds that are collected here will support Soraya, Borja and Rio financially in this impossible time to help them with family in Spain and for funeral arrangements.”
More than 660 donations are done in less than a week, some people each give $ 2,000.
Mrs. Mizrahi thanked “our loving community for your generosity”, with 86 percent of the $ 110,000 fundraising goal from Friday afternoon.

Alice Springs Steiner School also expressed sympathies and support for her “Fellow Steiner School Family”, and said “in times of sorrow, the power and compassion of our community shines the brightest”.
In a post on social media, the school said that Lua’s parents “want to return to their home country of Spain to be with extensive family while they are mourning and healing”.
