The quarterback market was turned upside down this week. There have been several injuries at the position, and as of this writing, there are far more questions than answers about the projections, or who will ultimately replace them. The headliner is Daniel Jones, whose comeback season ended on Sunday with a torn Achilles tendon. Shockingly, just weeks after being named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Philip Rivers has retired to join the Colts. We’ll see if he gets the starting nod over Riley Leonard, but expectations are about as low as they can get for the 44-year-old high school coach turned quarterback. The other notable injury was suffered by Jayden Daniels, who tried to return last week but will miss more time with his elbow injury. Geno Smith and Tyrod Taylor were also sidelined in Week 14.
As a reminder, these are dynastic power rankings, but they differ from traditional dynastic rankings. We’re going to focus more on winning week to week. It looks at the long-term value of a quarterback, but this exercise will focus more on the here and now. We want you to know where your quarterbacks stand this week and this season first, and then for the long haul.
Come back to Dynasty League Football every Saturday to see where your quarterbacks rank and who the biggest risers and fallers are each week! Along with Thursday and Friday’s quarterbacks, we also removed Michael Penix, Daniel Jones and Kyle Murray due to their long-term injury status.
With that, here is a tiered power ranking of the best fantasy football league quarterbacks from the Superflex Dynasty!
Level one
1. Josh Allen, BUF (ADP: QB1) (Last week: QB1)
There was a point this season where it looked like the AFC playoff field would be without the conference’s clear top four quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and reigning MVP Allen. While the others on the outside continue to watch the playoff picture, Allen has kept his team competitive. Last week was particularly impressive, with 251 yards and three touchdowns in a come-from-behind win over the Bengals. Allen has clearly been the number one quarterback in fantasy, and he sits near the top of the power rankings in a league of his own.
Level two
2. Joe Burrow, CIN (ADP: 9) (LW: 6)
2. Drake Maye, NE (ADP: 4) (LW: NR, Day week)
4. Patrick Mahomes, KC (ADP: 5) (LW: 2)
5. Lamar Jackson, BAL (ADP: 2) (LW: 5)
5. Justin Herbert, LAC (ADP: 8) (LW: 4)
This second level could be looped into the first level, but Allen just plays so much better than everyone else. Lamar Jackson finally got his fantasy total out of the single digits on Sunday, but he still couldn’t beat the Steelers. Jackson still seems a step slower, but was also let down by his receivers last week. Drops and penalties have robbed Jackson of several touchdowns in recent weeks. Running quarterbacks can fall off a cliff quickly, but I don’t think this is the beginning of the end for the Ravens’ signal caller.
Level three
7. Caleb Williams, CHI (ADP: 11) (LW: 7)
8. Jalen Hurts, PHI (ADP: 3) (LW: 3)
8. Jaxson Dart, NYG (ADP: 7) (LW: NR Bye Week)
10. Jordan Love, GB (ADP: 14) (LW: 9)
11. Dak Prescott, DAL (ADP: 13) (LW: NR TNF)
12. Matthew Stafford, LAR (ADP: 22) (LW: 11)
12. Bo Nix, DEAN (ADP: 12) (LW: 10)
After last week’s performance, Hurts has been significantly demoted in our power rankings. The Birds are on a three-game losing streak and are looking worse and worse week after week. This week had to be a career low for Hurts, who threw four interceptions and lost a fumble. Two of those turnovers came on the same play, and another ended the game in overtime. He’s in a rebound position this week against the Raiders, but it’s going to be very difficult to trust him as the QB1 in this offense.
Level four
14. Jared Goff, DET (ADP: 15) (LW: NR TNF)
15. CJ Stroud, HOU (ADP: 24) (LW: 12)
15. Sam Darnold, ZEE (ADP: 16) (LW: 14)
17. Trevor Lawrence, JAC (ADP: 18) (LW: 15)
Trevor Lawrence has been playing much better lately, throwing for multiple touchdown passes in three straight games and finishing with at least 17 fantasy points in each of those games. Prior to this run, he had just two multi-TD games in the first 10 games of his season. This offense needed a reliable pass-catcher that Lawrence could trust, and since the trade, he has hit it off right away with Jakobi Meyers. He has become a high-end QB2, with the potential to become a QB1.
Level five
18. Bryce Young, CAR (ADP: 28) (LW: NR Bye Week)
18. Brock Purdy, SF (ADP: 19) (LW: NR Bye Week)
18. Jayden Daniels, WAS (ADP: 6) (LW: 21)
21. Jacoby Brissett, ARI (ADP: NR) (LW: 16)
Since taking over for Kyler Murray, Jacoby Brissett has been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL. Only Josh Allen has scored more points than him in that time, and he has scored at least 19 points in every game he has started. Unfortunately, he’ll be going up against the dominant Houston Texans defense this Sunday, and he’ll have to do it without Marvin Harrison. We’ve been waiting for the wheels to fall off with Brissett, and this might finally be the week.
Level six
22. Cam Ward, TEN (ADP: 20) (LW: 18)
23. JJ McCarthy, MIN (ADP: 17) (LW: NR)
24. Tua Tagovailoa, MIA (ADP: 25) (LW: 17)
25. Shedeur Sanders, CLE (ADP: NR) (LW: 25)
26. Aaron Rodgers, PIT (ADP: NR) (LW: 20)
26. Tyler Shough, NO (ADP: 30) (LW: 26)
This is a fascinating lineup of quarterbacks, with several young options knocking on the door to become a regular QB2. Tyler Shough has to be the most unexpected name on the list, but after leading the Saints to a win over the Bucs, he started to gain some confidence. Shough, a 26-year-old rookie from Louisville, started the year without expectations. He was picked in the second round, but he couldn’t even beat out Spencer Rattler for the job. The Saints will have a high pick in the NFL Draft and could have a shot at a QB in the first round. If Shough continues to play this well, he could be the answer at the position in the long run and turn the Saints in a different direction early in the first round.
Level seven
28. Marcus Mariota, WAS (ADP: NR) (LW: 22)
29. Geno Smith, LW (ADP: 31) (LW: 19)
30. Riley Leonard, IND (ADP: NR) (LW: NR)
30. Tyrod Taylor, NYJ (ADP: NR) (LW: 24)
32. Philip Rivers, IND (ADP: NR) (LW: NR)
The last time we saw Rivers on the court, he led the Colts to an 11-5 season and a wild card berth in the playoffs. That was in 2020. Now, five years later, the Colts are bringing him out of retirement and can hand him the reins of their team as they make a run to make the playoffs. It’s impossible to know what to expect from Rivers, but I don’t think they can be much lower for me. He could be a desperate QB2 if he gets to start, but it’s certainly a fun story.
