American actors Will Forte and D’Arcy Carden star in a new Australian-made comedy.
A full trailer has been released for a new Australian comedy crime drama Sunny nights premieres on Stan on Boxing Day.
Led by American actors Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth, Bodkin, Saturday Night Live) and D’Arcy Carden (No one wants this, the good place, Barry) The eight-part series is directed and produced by Trent O’Donnell (Population 11, no activity, hacks, Colin from accounts).
Sunny nights follows the straightforward Martin, who sets up a spray tan business in Sydney with his loose cannon sister Vicki. Australia is home to one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world and is also home to Martin’s estranged wife, whom he is determined to win back. But as Martin and Vicki attempt to transform their business from a start-up operating out of a van to a multi-million dollar empire, the siblings become entangled in Sydney’s criminal underworld. When a ruthless gangster starts closing in on them, the two must figure out how to stay alive, out of prison and in the black.
Supporting cast members include Rachel House (Thor: Ragnarok, Heartbreak High, Foundation), Jessica De Gouw (The couple next door, the cunning dodger, ladies in black), Miritana Hughes (Wakefield, pastor), Ra Chapman (White Fever, Wentworth), Megan Wilding (Gold Seekers, Mystery Road: Origins), George Mason (Exposure, black snow, the power of the dog), Funeral (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, The Fall Guy), former professional rugby league footballer Willie Mason in his debut role, and a special appearance by Patrick Brammall (Colin from Accounts, no activity, the disappointment).
