Australia National Cricket Team Modern Day Batting Great Steve Smith has fired a huge warning for the National Cricket team of England prior to the Ashes 2025-26.
Steve Smith said that the English National Cricket team slags will find it difficult to play their aggressive brand cricket in Australia because of the challenging circumstances that are offered.
I think the wickets have been really difficult in the past three or four years – Steve Smith
The Ashes 2025-26 will take place at five iconic locations in Australia from November 2025 to January 2026. The series opener takes place at the Optus Stadium in Perth from 21 to 25 November, followed by the second test in the Gabba in Brisbane from 4 to 8 December.

Subsequently, the promotion will move to Adelaide for the third test in the Adelaide Oval, planned between December 17 and 21, and the fourth test will be organized by the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from 26 to 30 December. In the meantime, the serial final will take place on the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from 4 to 8, 2026.
Prior to the Markee Ashes series, Steve Smith spoke about the Anderson-Detulkar trophy and said that he thoroughly enjoyed the battle between India and England, labeling as one of the best in region.
Steve Smith, however, shot a warning on the side lined by Ben Stokes and said that the difficult wickets in Australia will be difficult for them. In an interaction with Sky Sports he said:
“I have looked at a lot of the series against India and I think it was one of the best region I saw for a long time. The cricket that was played by both teams was excellent. So I think England has a good side at the moment. They clearly play a really aggressive brand Cricket, and I think it is coming to Australia, especially a challenge.
“I think the wickets have been really tricky in the past three or four years. We clearly have a very experienced bowling -up with boys who have played for a long time and have been extremely successful. So I am looking forward to summer.
“I think it will be a great series. I know that the last ashes were during Covid-19, and the bary army and so could not come down. So the atmosphere will be very different. We like to play for large crowds and hostile crowds on both sides. So it’s fun.
From australian point of view, he hopefully won’t get 100 – Steve Smith this summer
Joe Root, the former English skipper, is the second highest run scorer in the history of test cricket, only behind Sachin Tendulkar. He has scored an abundance of runs in different countries, but Australia has not been his happy hunting ground. In 14 test competitions, Joe Root has scored only 892 points on an average of 35.68, without a century.
In the meantime, Steve Smith praised his Fab-four partner for his incredible consistency in the past few years, but hoped that the English batter did not score a hundred in Ashes 2025-26. Steve Smith said:
“I think that not only in that series, the last two years that he has just been incredible. His ability to make big scores, to go from 50 to 100, which was probably a thing that he had been caught for a while in those 50 to 100 place. Now he has just made it to count and go and make huge scores. So, I think he hasn’t scored 100 in Australia.
“I think that a lot has been spoken about. I am sure that he wants to check from his bucket list. So, as I said, it will be difficult to hit, especially for batters of topores. From an Australian point of view, hopefully he will not get 100 this summer, but I know he is working hard on it.”
No fears here – Steve Smith
Steve Smith has not been in his best form lately and when he was asked about the fear of an English bowler, he raised the question. The Aussie Great said:
“No fears here. As a player you like to compete against the best. So no fears here. I just look forward to what is a cool series, especially with two really good fast bowling attacks that go on it. Many good batters on both sides, and it will be a beautiful series.
