St James’ Park is waiting for – The Newcastle V Arsenal Preview

Welcome to the Newcastle V Arsenal Preview.

Sunday 28 September-one kick-off from 4.30 pm.

Newcastle United will only achieve their second Premier League victory of the season this weekend, at home with an in-form Arsenal team that houses the ambitions to win their first title since 2004.

The Gunners have struggled in Gallowgate in recent years and the Toon Army will hope that this will continue on Sunday afternoon, live on Sky Sports.

A late kick -off will undoubtedly help with the atmosphere and a victory for United can really start our season. Arsenal will not enjoy a visit to Tyneside, after he has lost four of their last five visits in all matches. This is one that is not missed!

Form

Newcastle played five Premier League matches this season, won one, three drawn and one lost. We scored three and admitted three. Four clean sheets in five league games show how difficult we are to break down, put things right on the other side of the field and this season it can look very clear for NUFC. We are currently in the competition thirteenth, but three points can be as high as fifth, depending on the results elsewhere.

Arsenal has also played five Premier League matches. They won three, signed one and one lost. The ten points they have reached, they have second in the table, but already follows Liverpool with five points. They have scored ten goals so far and have only admitted two and that plus eight target difference is currently the best in the top flight.

Last time -out

The tone organized Bradford at home on Wednesday evening and walked out comfortable winners. The Bantams started strong, but well -taken strikes from both Joelinton and Osula had us two goals for the good in the break with Osula who also forced two good saves in one of his best matches for the club. In the second half, Joelinton saw the match ended as a match when we raised 3-0 before Bradford Striker Cook had his moment of glory with a nice goal of reducing the overdue overdue, a special thing for him as a lifelong tone fan. Newcastle continued to insist on further goals and Harvey Barnes went two separate occasions close before Osula completed the score with his third of the season to seal a 4-1 victory and set up a home base with Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal also traveled to Port Vale on Wednesday evening, in the League Cup, and managed to avoid its own banana skin. They have recorded a 2-0 win to secure a place in the fourth round where they will host Brighton and Hove Albion.

National attack!

Newcastle has won three of their last four Home League matches with Arsenal.

Thirty Premier League meetings in St James’ Park took place between the two parties. These have resulted in nine wins for the tone, eight draws and thirteen arsenal victories.

Newcastle won three victories in four games against Arsenal last season, scored five goals and gave only one.

Memorable competition

In 95/96, Newcastle United almost everyone sweeps aside. In fact, we won an incredible seventeen home competition matches that season, where only Man United and Tottenham took something from Gallowgate.

We celebrated the new year in style on January 2 when Arsenal came to the city. David Ginola only took two minutes to shoot an attempt in the upper corner and set United on the way to an eleventh straight house Premier League win. The points were protected early in the second half by Sir Les Ferdinand, who came a squat through the ball of Warren Barton to hit our second of the game. There was still time for Paul Kitson to hit an attempt of the upright, while the tone threatened to run up row about what was a great performance and result for NUFC. Unfortunately, only eight days later there would be an angel in the tail in a ridiculous unfair competition head Quarter -final defeat in Highbury. Ginola in particular was on the receiving side of downright criminals that evening before he was broadcast for retribution while the Gunners amounted to their way to revenge. Newcastle final score 2-0 Arsenal.

Played for both

Sol Campbell Was something of an Arsenal -legend, after he signed up on a free of fatal rivals Tottenham Hotspur and then part of the team became the Premier League title in White Hart Lane in 2004. He also scored against Barcelona in the 2006 Champions League final. He remained spells in Portsmouth, Notts County and Arsenal again before he signed up in 2010 and only played a handful of matches for the magpies. A huge talent in his Prime, we never got to see him somewhere near his best while struggling for both form and fitness during his time in St James’ Park.

Mathieu Debuchy Signed for the tone together with four other French players in January 2013 when Mike Ashley splashed the money in an attempt to prevent relegation only a few months after the fifth in the Premier League. His only goal for NUFC was a often forgotten equalizer in Sunderland in a 2-1 defeat. Had that strike won in a draw or victory over our arch rivals, he had reached a cult status at NUFC. He signed for Arsenal in 2014 and spent four seasons in Noord -Londen.

Current Arsenal -midfielder Mikel Merino Had all the start of a fan of a fan while playing for Newcastle in the 17/18 season, his assets was clear to everyone to see. His only goal for the tone was a late winner at home at Crystal Palace. Unfortunately, he struggled poorly with different injuries during his time and he returned to Spain after just one season.

Managers

Eddie Howe after a 4-1 victory at home at Bradford:

“We want to win what is being placed for us, and the attitude comes from us, the coaches, and it should filter. There is no difference between the games; these are chances of winning trophies, and you can’t just turn them away. So, the hard rounds are the early ways. Score and try to entert everyone who came.

Mikel Arteta after a 2-0 League Cup victory gone in Port Vale:

“We have never tried to give them a momentum. We started the game really well, scored the goal, had two big open situations, but did not succeed in scoring it. In the second half, especially the first part of it, they immediately started playing, throwing in, they started to threaten our box, we have a little control, we just have the game.

Charity

Prediction

This promises to be an absolute cracker!

Arsenal is in good shape at the moment, but the tone is very difficult to beat and looked firmly after it. I think Arsenal will take an early lead, but this will only serve to galvanize both the Toon team and fans. Back will come back and the pressure will eventually tell at the end with a wildly celebrated equalizer. Both teams must then be satisfied with a well -earned point of a high -quality football match. Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal.
