Derby County will not consider bids for Jacob Widell Zetterstrom this winter as top clubs are interested in the £15million-rated goalkeeper. Daily mail.
Derby County signed Jacob Widell Zetterstrom from Djurgarden in the summer of 2024. He arrived as DCFC strengthened their ranks for the return to Championship football and has since secured the starting spot.
The Swede was solid in his first campaign, but had some shaky moments. This season, such cases have been resolved and Zetterstrom is arguably one of the Rams’ most important players.
Such achievements have not gone unnoticed at a higher level either. However, the 27-year-old said earlier this season that he does not pay attention to such transfer rumors, and Derby County also have little interest in losing their starting goalkeeper.
According to the Daily mailthe Rams are unwilling to consider bids for Zetterstrom this month. There is interest from clubs described as ‘top tier’ in this new report, but a sale will not be considered until the summer at the earliest, with the shot-stopper valued at a minimum of £15 million.
Jacob Widell Zetterstrom’s stock is growing in impressive form for Derby County
Zetterstrom started 40 Championship games for Derby County last season and has only just missed his first game of the current campaign.
He was left out of the starting XI against Charlton Athletic during the week due to illness. Veteran Richard O’Donnell made his debut in his place and rolled back the years with a fine performance for John Eustace’s side.
If all goes well, Zetterstrom will be back in the side against West Brom on Friday evening. When available, he is now one of the first names on the DCFC team sheet, so the reluctance to entertain winter bids for his services won’t come as much of a surprise.
If he can maintain the level he has shown this season, it is not out of the question that his £15m valuation could grow before the summer. DCFC could have a tougher task keeping him with them, but they can make a healthy profit if they make money.

Fringe players move on to Derby County, but star men remain
Derby County are using this transfer window to streamline their squad. It has been a busy summer as John Eustace has been well supported, but small adjustments are being made to push DCFC towards the play-offs.
Promotion winning trio Ebo AdamsCurtis Nelson and Ryan Nyambe had fallen down the pecking order before their departure. They have moved to Portsmouth, MK Dons and Reading respectively.
While those out of favor leave, key figures remain in place. Not only do the Rams have no interest in selling Zetterstrom, but their stance on Patrick Agyemang has also become clear amid recent speculation.
