The 2025 NBA Cup concludes Tuesday night in Las Vegas, where it all comes down to the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks. Is it a possible preview of the NBA Finals? Now that Oklahoma City has failed to reach the title game, maybe it won’t. Then again, maybe that’s true. Both teams are loaded with talent and enter Tuesday’s showdown with dual 18-7 regular-season records.

Let’s take a look at my Spurs vs. Knicks predictions.

San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks Odds

Moneyline: Spurs +116 / Knicks -136
Spread: Spurs +2.5 (-110) / Knicks -2.5 (-110)
Total: more than 229.5 (-110) / less than 229.5 (-110)

San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks Best Bet No. 1: Spurs +2.5 (-110)

You can’t have much more momentum than San Antonio has right now. Finally, it stunned Oklahoma City (previously 24-1) with a 111-109 loss in Saturday’s NBA Cup semifinal. Two days off should give Spurs the right balance of momentum and rest. You don’t want to jump straight into another game after such a monumental highlight as a win over the Thunder, but 72 hours between games means disappointment should be avoided. The most important thing is that Victor Wembanyama is back. The former No. 1 overall pick missed 12 games due to a calf injury, but he returned against OKC looking like his normal self.

Wembanyama has joined a supporting cast that has really stepped up in his absence, posting a 9-3 record in those twelve games. That will only help San Antonio in the long run — and perhaps in the short run, too. No fewer than eight players on the roster are averaging double figures, including Wembanyama (25.8 ppg) and De’Aaron Fox (23.9 ppg). Devin Vassell (15.7 ppg) has scored at least 23 points in two of the last four games. Stephon Castle (18.4 ppg) scored 30 and 22 points in the NBA Cup quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

Supporting San Antonio isn’t a blurring of New York at all. After all, there’s nothing bad to say about the Knicks. If there’s one potential flaw, it’s that head coach Mike Brown’s squad could be vulnerable against stiff competition. The last four upsets all came against teams currently in the top six of the Eastern Conference standings. Now the Knicks will face perhaps the second-best team in the West.

San Antonio Spurs vs. New York Knicks best player prop bet: Victor Wembanyama Over 25.5 points + assists (-110)

Wembanyama came off the bench in his return on Saturday and promptly produced 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks in just 21 minutes of work. While the 7’4″ Frenchman may not reach his normal minutes quota on Tuesday, he should log more than 21 minutes. After all, he already has a game under his belt – and he’s been given two days of rest. Besides, this is the NBA Cup. There’s no reason to hold anything back.

For the season, Wembanyama is averaging 29.6 points + assists per game. He recorded at least four dimes in four of his last five games before being injured — a stretch that included a 10-assist performance against Golden State on Nov. 12. With seven teammates averaging double figures in the points department, Wembanyama has plenty of options if he wants to deliver the basketball. It should also be noted that New York is in the middle of the NBA in opponent assists per field goal made (63.5 percent). The figure of 65.8 percent over the past three games would be the third highest season average.
