Spend small business Saturday in Brooklyn

Check a few items off your holiday list and support Brooklyn’s shops and restaurants this weekend during Small Business Saturday.

After the Thanksgiving meal is eaten, thoughts turn to the pressure of the holiday shopping list. This year, take a relaxed approach by strolling through some Brooklyn neighborhoods and supporting local shops and restaurants during Small Business Saturday this weekend.

The annual national eventoriginally founded by American Express in 2010, it encourages patronage of local businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year that is Saturday, November 29.

Businesses throughout the borough are open (in-person or online) for gift purchases, while eateries offer a break from shopping – and in some cases, gifts or gift cards. Shop Klein Greenpoint is expanding its local focus with the return of their in-person crawl event from November 28 through December 7 with discounts, raffles and more to support Greenpoint businesses.

To inspire some ideas, we’ve rounded up nine Brooklyn shops and restaurants and their owners featured in Brownstoner so far in 2025.
