Special Olympics International joins Football in the United Nations for the goal initiative

As one of the world’s leading football organizations for people with and without intellectual disabilities, Special Olympics is proud to become a member of the Foot football of the United Nations for the objectives initiative.

Football for the goals is a UN initiative that offers a platform for the global football community to come along and to argue for the Sustainable development goals (SDGS). The SDGs include everything, from health to gender equality and education, and they mobilize the efforts all over the world to put an end to all forms of poverty, to combat against inequalities and tackle climate change by 2030. Football for the goals taps the power of football to defend the SDGs in the football industry and also to stimulate behavioral and sustainable.

Special Olympic Games of membership are starting to play football for the concentration of the goals on 4 September, with the emphasis on football for development work Special Olympics does it worldwide. The gathering includes football interest holders from all over the world of confederations, national associations, competitions and clubs at all levels, player associations, organized fang groups, as well as media and commercial partners are also invited to participate in this initiative.

This membership will lead to increased cooperation options with all stakeholders of football and show the leading efforts that we make when working on the UN -SDGs.
