Arne Slot has conversations with Mo Salah
Slot gave the latest update in the Salah saga on Friday, with the coach saying the Egyptian’s participation against Brighton would be based on discussions with the player.
“I’ll speak to him today and the outcome of that conversation will determine what it will look like tomorrow,” the head coach explained.
“We’ve spoken a lot over the last week. After the Sunderland game, I think there’s been a lot of conversations between his representatives and our representatives, and between him and me after the Sunderland game.”

Slot also said the decision to leave him out of the squad and face Inter was a joint decision with sporting director Richard Hughes.
When asked directly whether he would want Salah to stay at Liverpool, Slot replied: “I have no reason not to want him to stay.”
In that case, whoever has to make the first move will probably have to start patching things up.

With Salah’s future at stake, James Nalton has investigated why the Egyptian made his controversial comments and why he feels like someone wants him out of the club:
“Salah refers to ‘someone’ a few times. We do not know whether he knows who this is, but given the sporting structure and hierarchy at Liverpool, there could be more people, more people who make decisions at the club that affect players than just Arne Slot.”
“The mysterious entity in this scenario could be the sporting management team, which currently consists of Richard Hughes at club level and above him at FSG level Michael Edwards, who must take some of the blame for the way this has played out.”
