Located on 10770 NE Achth St., the building is on the northwestern side of the party to maximize the open space on the ground level-a new public empire that prioritizes open space, pedestrian paths and design led by elements of placemaking. Dubbed the eight, the building rises 25 stories and brings 540,000 square feet letting Bellevue, Wash., Office space.
The eight, the newest addition to the Downtown Bellevue, Wash., Skyline, rises 25 floors above Ne Eighth Street and is planned to be the first suffering V4 Core & Shell Platinum project of the city.
The latest addition to the skyline of the downtown Bellevue has 23,000 square foot floor plates; 11,000 square feet of shops on the ground floor; And underground parking built for nearly 1,060 spaces. Presented for Leed Platinum certification, the eight would be the third suffering V4 Core & Shell Platinum project in the state of Washington and the first in Bellevue.
“The masses, color and structural expression lead to the natural beauty and architectural heritage of the Pacific Northwest,” said Anthony Markese, director of Pickard Chilton. “The unique faceted tower shape of the Acht and the sun -drenched public square were considered a prototype for the catalytic transformation of an important site in the heart of Bellevue, Washington.”
Pickard Chilton designed the building to have a zijkern that could make open, column-free floor plans, 14-foot ceilings and an extensive view. In particular, the diagonal brackets that arise from a structural aperture under the grade wrap around the faceted tower to create a robust lateral system that is able to withstand the regional seismic forces.
This unique structure also exposes the brackets to strategic, terrace -shaped, active user rooms along the facade, which contributes to the dynamic feeling of the building.

De Acht offers trophy-class office space in the center of Bellevue, Wash., With 23,000 square base, column-free floor plates; 14-foot ceilings; And vast views.
Designed for occupant wellness, the eight have been developed using numerous sustainable design and construction methods. In fact, the powerful housing was designed to exceed the energy code of the city. In the meantime, the square at street level, open roof and seven tenant terraces show the prioritization of access to daylight, fresh air and inspiring view.
In addition, a publicly accessible lobby -lounge called the “Living Room” opens directly onto the square, combining the indoor and outdoor space. And anchoring the eastern edge of the site is an independent pavilion designed as a carbon-efficient, heavy wood structure that nestles in the site by integrating slopes and accessible paths and inviting community open space.
“From the first day, our goal was on the eight to deliver more than just an office tower,” said Charlie Foushée, Executive Vice President and regional manager for the Seattle region of Skanska USA. “We wanted to create a dynamic, hospitable place that meets the flexibility, wellness and sustainability needs of today’s top tenants. Our collaboration with Pickard Chilton resulted in an iconic building with light-filled, fascinating spaces for everyone of office workers to make, collect and thrive in the heart of the city.”
