Jannik Sinner ended his 2025 campaign in perfect fashion by beating his biggest rival and winning a title in front of his home crowd.

Sinner triumphed for the second year in a row at the Nitto ATP Finals as he defeated Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(4), 7-5 on Sunday afternoon in Turin, Italy. The world number 2 saved a set point in the first and came back from a break in the second to win after two hours and 15 minutes.

Speaking of perfect, Sinner is now 10-0 in his last ten matches at the year-end championship and a hard-to-believe 20-0 in his last twenty sets.

“It was tough today,” Sinner assured. “When you play against Carlos, you have to play your best. I served very well at times, but he is one of the best returners in the game… But I am very happy. It was a tough match. It means a lot to me to end the season this way. It is great.”

“I am very happy with the level I played today,” Alcaraz said at the awards ceremony before addressing Sinner. “[You are] someone who hasn’t lost an indoor track match in two years, so that means what a great player you are — doing an excellent job with your team [all the] time. After every loss you come back even stronger…. You don’t have many!”

Sinner certainly doesn’t have many losses except against his arch-rival. The 24-year-old ends his season with an overall record of 58-6; he went 56-2 against players other than Alcaraz.

Alcaraz, who appeared to be bothered by a minor leg injury during the second set, captured the year-end No. 1 ranking by winning 3–0 in his round-robin group. The six-time Grand Slam champion made his third appearance in Turin and played his first final at this tournament.
