Novak Djokovic withdrew from the Western & Southern Open on Monday. That means that the 38-year-old Serbian will not play between Wimbledon and the US Open, but he has confirmed his upcoming participation in New York.
Djokovic is 45-12 lifespan with the Cincinnati Masters with three titles, including a memorable triumph in his last performance (2023). In that final, the 24-time Grand Slam champion saved one match point on the way to an Epic 5-7, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (4) victory over Carlos Alcaraz.
It has been a somewhat closed 2025 campaign for Djokovic, who has reached the semi -finals in all three slams, but has not yet gone to a final. He also finished in second place at the Miami Masters.
On the other hand for the organizers of the Cincinnati tournament, their field should be much more impressive than that of Toronto – which was plagued by a whole series of withdrawals. The most striking thing is that both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz play in Cincy, where they arrived earlier this week.
Main Draw Competition in the Western & Southern Open starts on Thursday and runs until Monday, August 18. Sinner and Alcaraz will be the top two seeds for Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur, Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti.
Participate in Djokovic on the recording list from the second of back-to-back Masters 1000 events are Jack Draper, Grigor Dimitrov, Alexander Bublik, Sebastian Korda, Hubert Hurkacz and Matteo Berrettini.
