Diego Simeone admits Atletico Madrid lacked decisiveness but is not dejected by their recent struggles away to PSV in the Champions League.
Atletico have lost their last two matches to Athletic Club and Barcelona respectively, both away from home in LaLiga.
They have also been beaten in both of their Champions League games so far, going down to Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal.
In fact, 13 of Atletico’s last 17 league wins have come at home.
While they have won six games at home in the league, Simeone’s side have lost each of their last three games in a row – they have only lost four in a row once before in the European Cup/Champions League (April-November 2022).
“The results are not as positive as we would have liked,” Simeone said at his press conference.
“We have done a lot of good things in away games; I would say that if we want to be where we have been for the last fourteen years, we have to have won away games…
“For me it all comes down to decisiveness. The team is playing well. Against.” [Real] Betis, we scored early. We had chances against Getafe, but we didn’t take them, and we were under pressure until the 80th minute. Teams have a hard time when they’re not at home.”

Atletico are twelfth in the Champions League with nine points, but are only one behind eighth-place Sporting CP heading into the sixth round.
Although Simeone’s side have lost their last two league matches, they have won their last two matches in Europe, beating Union Saint-Gilloise and Inter.
Atletico has a strong record against PSV and remains undefeated in the last six meetings with the Dutch team (W4 D2). Only against Celtic (eight) and Lokomotiv Moscow (seven) have they faced a team more without defeat.
And Simeone is not worried about his side having a bad run, saying: “The players are so used to playing so often.
“Football has changes within the game. The most important thing is to do things right. If you do them right you can’t guarantee you’ll win, but if you do them wrong it almost certainly means you won’t.”
