Toronto-de Toronto Sceptres have agreed to the conditions with Emma Gentry, the first selection of the team in the PWHL concept of 2025, in which a two-year-old Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Standard Player agreement is signed. The contract locks the current Vooruit during the PWHL season 2026-27, the team announced today.
“We are delighted to welcome Emma Gentry to our team for a two -year deal,” said Sceptres General Director Gina Kingsbury. Emma brings a high level of competition, a desire to grow and has a very high ceiling. We believe that she fits well with our team and we can’t wait to see her develop under our great coaching staff. “
Gentry was selected by Sceptres in the 2nd round, 11th General during the PWHL design of 2025. The 22-year-old from Alpena, MI, reached in her last four of five seasons with St. Cloud State University Huskies, led the team with 13 goals during the campaign 2024-25. She also won gold with Team USA at the World Championship 2020 IIHF U18.

I am incredibly grateful for the whole staff I have kept in me and I am excited to meet the great fans, to compete with some of the best players in the world and work with such an elite coaching craft,” Ghentry said. “I am proud to be a ruthless competitor who plays a physical, hard -working game, and I am ready to bring that every time I get on the ice. Toronto is such a special city, and I can’t wait to start.”
Gentry had the opportunity to tour Toronto after the design with a journey with picturesque visits to the CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Rogers Center, St. Lawrence Market, Mayor Olivia Chow, and Availability of media At Ford Performance Center on 27 June. She is the first member of the 2025 design class of the team and the tenth player in general to sign with Sceptres this season.
