Shohei Ohtani had his longest pitching -outing since 2023 on Wednesday evening, went five innings and allowed one point while he finally won, the first of his career in Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ohtani was masterful against the Cincinnati Reds and used all his pitches on the way to a nine-trikeout version.

After the nine strikeouts of Ohtani in five innings, the Dodgers bullpen continued where he had gone.
Jack Dreyer hit two in his one inning of work. Justin Wobleski then did the same in the seventh.
Edgardo Henriquez spread the side in the eighth inning, followed by Blake Tinnen, who did the same in the ninth.
When it was all said and done, the pitching of Dodgers had 19 strikeouts. That was their most in a game with nine inning since at least 1900, per MLB researcher Sarah by.
“That’s a large number,” said manager Dave Roberts after the game. “It is talking about what our boys can do with the talent we have, the swing and miss and so really good performance.”
The impressive performance helped the Dodgers to lead to a 5-1 victory, which extended their winning series to four games. Moreover, the team took a lead of two games in the National League West over the San Diego Padres, and a half-game lead on the Philadelphia Phillies for the number 2 seed in the NL.
