After scoring the winning goal in the Carabao Cup final for Newcastle against Liverpool, almost nobody could have predicted the full breakdown in the relationship between Isak and the club less than six months later.
The striker has called a large part of the window to move to Liverpool, still has to train with the team and has missed all the friendly matches for the season, both at home and abroad.
There is hope that the player and the club can eventually restore fences and work again, but with Isak less than 48 hours before the start of the season, completely AWOL, that seems that it will only happen at the earliest.
And his actions did not go unnoticed in the media, because top experts and former professionals all agree on the shocking nature of his recent actions.

On the stick to football podcast, the Ian Wright group, Roy Keane and Gary Neville, each weighed on the current Isak situation.
And together they feel each that Isak has directed his debt to the wrong people in the situation.
Wright in particular seemed very disappointed about the behavior of Isak. “It doesn’t look good, and you have to say that there is a lot of talk about what may have been promised through Stevey, I don’t know what’s going on.”
Keane expressed a little more skepticism about the situation, in the conviction that Isak did it completely wrong by being absent in training and games.
