Gyokeres, Jesus, Havertz: Arsenal injury latest for FPL Gameweek 11

After being released early in Gameweek 10 and missing Arsenal’s Champions League win in midweek, reports listed That Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) is in a race to make it to Gameweek 12 after the international break.

However, during Friday’s press conference, Mikel Arteta said with a wry smile that he “cannot confirm” that both Gyokeres and Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m, muscle) will miss this trip to Sunderland.

But it is thought they will remain unavailable, just like knee casualties Martin Odegaard (£7.8 million), Call Maduyke (£6.8 million) and Kai Havertz (£7.3 million).

“I can’t confirm all that, but you’re not far!” – Mikel Arteta when asked if all the above five players were out

“Some of them. All of them – I don’t know. There are a lot of things that have to happen in the next two weeks, and everything has to be perfect, but I think we’re going to be very close to being in a very strong position with most of them.” – Mikel Arteta on whether he expected all or part of this injured quintet to be back after the break

Also absent from Tuesday’s win over Slavia Prague was Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.2 million).

Martin Zubimendi (£5.4 million) was also not involved, but only by suspension. He did train on Monday, despite having retired in Gameweek 10 with his own muscle problem.

And back at training on Thursday, he was absent for a long time Gabriel Jesus (£6.4m, knee).
