Burrows, 23, helped the Blades win the Championship last season’s play-off final. However, they were defeated by Sunderland at Wembley and missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

In this latest update on his future in South Yorkshire, Wilder has said, according to a report from The star: “I don’t want to lose players, but I understand that if something comes, and everyone thinks it’s good or from a financial point of view … but I’m trying to build and Harrison is and is part of that.

“Right now he has a battle with Sammy (McCallum). He won that battle last year and Sammy is winning that battle this season. So he has a battle to push and get into the team, but he’s still a young player and still someone we want to have around.”

“When the time comes when the owners and the director say, ‘We really need to think about this,’ I’d like to think I’ll be part of that discussion.”

What about Sheffield United and Harrison Burrows now?

Sheffield United head coach Wilder has made it clear that Burrows is sticking to his plans despite not being guaranteed a start. SUFC have no plans to sell him unless an offer comes along that they cannot refuse and requires his signature.

Trabzonspor could offer him the chance to test himself in a new country. They are ranked third in the Turkish Super Lig, behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

The Blades are back in league action this weekend. They face a trip to The Valley to play Charlton Athletic.

Wilder’s men lost 4-3 at home to Mansfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend. Gustavo Hamer and Patrick Bamford were on the scoresheet for them against the Stags, while Nathan Moriah-Welsh scored an own goal.

Sheffield United are in 16th place in the second tier after 26 games. They sit nine points clear of the play-offs behind sixth-placed Watford as they look to close that gap in the coming weeks and months.
