From the 30-foot beach, Sheetweb Weaver got going quickly and headed for early leader Macho Man. Driver Michael Stanley let Sheetweb Weaver get off at least a distance ahead of his rivals. Favorite Speedy Lover was well back in the field, but after a lap his driver Chris Geary let his horse move alongside the leader. Sunny Gee was then able to follow a trail.
SHEETWEB WEAVER NOVEMBER 8 REPEAT
Speedy Lover gave a serious challenge and at the top of the straight he seemed to outsmart his opponents. However, Sheetweb Weaver continued to show great determination and he gradually pulled away to win by three meters from Speedy Lover, with Courage Stride finishing a fair third without troubling the winner.
Sheetweb Weaver has been in a number of stables and only recently joined Michael Stanley’s team at Menangle. The stable is in a purple zone of winning races, including a double at Melton on Friday in the VicBred series with Sao Paolo Simba and Soho Americano, but this is Stanley’s only known trotter in his team.

He is out of Bold Invasion and is the mare’s only winning offspring. Bold Invasion is out of Bold Dee Jay, a capable trotter who won eight races, including the Bathurst Coronet.
The race is named in honor of the late Stan Dumesny, who operated the famous Ruby Vale stud farm at Parkes in central west New South Wales.
Stan has made a valuable contribution to harness racing as a stud owner, breeder, owner, trainer, driver and manager, but is also an important identity of the Parkes community.
