Serghei Spivac climbed back into the win column with an impressive performance against Ante Delija at UFC Houston.

Much of the opening round was a stinging battle, with neither fighter showing interest in grappling or attacking their opponent’s lead leg.

It was more of the same in the second, as Spivac managed to take out Delija. But as the round came to a close, Delija turned up the heat, walking over Spivac and throwing shots with maximum power in hopes of landing a fight-ending punch. That moment never came, which prompted Delija cling up and take a breath.

Delija broke away in the waning seconds of the second, but neither fighter landed a last-second strike, sending us to the third and final round.

After 10 minutes of batting, Spivac finally opted to go to his bread and butter. With half a round to go, Spivac managed to get Delija to the mat, although it didn’t take long for Delija to get back to his feet and fend off another takedown attempt.

As time ticked down, Spivac released his hands and landed a nice combination against the fence.

After 15 minutes we went to the scorecards where the ‘Polar Bear’ would go on a two-fight losing skid.
