All teams in the NHL are currently preparing to start the coming season 2025-26. For De Kraken in Seattle this will be their fifth season in the competition, and they have already planned something special for the occasion. On 4 September they unveiled their official third sweater. They shared a video about their social media accounts that the sweater officially announced.
For fans who want to buy the third sweater, it is available for holders of season card tomorrow, 5 September, for presale. On 11 September they are available to the general public for presale. The sweaters will be available to the general public on 5 October.
A story to go with the sweater
Just like the mythical marine animal that the team is named after, the third sweater of De Kraken tells a story. The design itself is solid black, such as the sea animal lurking in the dark depths of the ocean. The stitching on the sweater also uses black wire to emphasize the “blackout” of the sweater.
The logo has ice blue stitching that also glows in the dark. Many marine animals that live in the depths of the ocean glow, also known as bioluminescence. The Casino patch from MuckleShoot will also glow in the dark. The Captain Crest of Jordan Eberle will also glow, as well as the alternative captains ‘A.’
Along the sleeves of the sweater and up and down the pants will be ‘sonar sleeves’. Another nod to the marine animal that the team was named after, Sonar would detect if a being lurks lurking under the depths of the water.
The thought that was invested in the design of the third sweater van Kraken has not gone unnoticed. This release of Jersey is the perfect way for the cracking to enter their fifth season in the NHL with a bang.
Seattle will wear the sweater for 11 games
De Kraken wears their new third sweater for 11 home games throughout the season. The games are:
