A 2-0 victory saw Scotland women complete the Eurohockey championship with a victory in France to claim sixth place in the tournament.
Sarah Jamieson earned her 100th cap in the game, because both parties fought for the second position in group C in Monchengladbach.
It was an even opening for the game with Scotland with promising moments, in particular due to the working speed of Heather McEwan.
France came closest, but Jess Buchanan made excellent dives on her right to deny the French in the lead.
The match remained tight in the second quarter. Scotland had their first penalty corner attempt, but could not have it counted and the first half ended as a scoreless.
An Amy Costello Drag Flick was saved by the keeper’s left cushion, but the rebound found a French foot for a different angle. This time a routine with two pass saw the ball fall for Sarah Robertson who wiped him 1-0 in the right corner.
Costello made a number of fine opportunities before the end of the third quarter when she found the left under corner for 2-0.
Early in the last quarter, McEwan took almost a third goal with a nice deflected effort, but an excellent diving saving at the right post denied the goal.
Charlotte Watson came alongside a shot in front of the goal from the right, but it was just wide from the distant pole.
In the end, Scotland was comfortable and he took the victory to complete a successful tournament in Germany.
Captain Sarah Robertson said: “I am absolutely happy. I am proud of the team; a division is tough against top teams, most of them are professional, while our players all have jobs, so for us it is a great tournament and great to win.
“It is so nice to see the number of young talent in the team and we are proud of the players who play their first A -division. There is still enough to come for us with a world cup qualification to look forward to, and we are progressing well.”
