The 25-26 schedule of Georgetown is online. It does not change their suitability, but it is interesting that Fort and Diouf are mentioned as second -year students. (McKenna was mentioned as a first-year student in 23-24 and then again last season)

Here are five first thoughts of the new schedule:
1. An emphasis on positional length
The most striking feature of this schedule is the overwhelming size and strength on the circumference. The Hoyas list nine guards, but the term “guard” is probably used loosely. Six of them are 6’4 “or larger, including Maryland Transfer Deshawn Harris-Smith 6’5”, 224 LBS), Arizona Transfer KJ Lewis 6’4 “, 210 LBS) and Baylor Transfer Love 6’5”, `210 LBS). This is not a collection of light perimeter players; It is a framework of physical, versatile wings built to overwhelm smaller opponents, to switch defensively without creating mismatches and dominating the shelves of any position on the floor.
2. Forged in the fire of the transfer portal
This is unambiguously a team built by the modern architecture of college basketball: the transfer portal. With important players who arrive from large programs such as Arizona (Lewis), Baylor (Love), Maryland (Harris-Smith), Uconn (Isaiah Abraham) and St. John’s (Vince Iwuchukwu), the Hoyas have blamed their line-up with a proven, high-major talent. The advantage is a selection that is not intimidated by the bright lights of the Big East. The primary challenge, as with any transfer-heavy team, will speed up chemistry. With so many players used to being primary options in their former teams, the first task of the coaching staff will determine the roles and form individual talents in a coherent unity.
3. A return to large basketball in the middle
Although the guards are large, the centers are giants. Georgetown mentions a three-man rotation in the middle position that goes back to the intimidating legacy of the program. The trio of seal diouf 6’9, 255 lbs), Julius Halaifonua 7’0, 259 lbs), and the experienced St. John’s transfer Vince iwuchukwu 7’1, 257 lbs) gives the Hoyas a stunning amount of sizes, strength, strength and in the posture. Hoya’s dive of the Hoyas that the Hoyas a darkness of the rim, the rim, the rim, the rim of the rim, the rim of the rim, the rim, the rim of the rim, and a dive should be bidding.
4. The second -year class has the key to the team’s ceiling
Although the high -profile transfers will reach the headlines, the ultimate potential of the team can rest on the development of his huge second -year class. Eight players on the Roster start their second year, including promising Forward Caleb Williams and Isaiah Abraham. Jayden Fort is mentioned as a second -year student with a year under his belt and a number of very positive whispers, but he has no NCAA minutes yet. This group represents the engine room of the team and the depth. If this cohort can make the leap into production and maturity from first -year to second year, they will offer critical support and internal competition needed to elevate the Hoyas from a collection of talent to a legitimate conference.
5. A unique mix of youth and experience
The selection presents an interesting paradox: it is at the same time old and new. With graduated students such as Jeremiah Williams (Rutgers) and Langston Love (Baylor), together with senior Vince Iwuchukwu, the Hoyas have experienced veterans who have high -level university basketball for many years. With 11 of the 16 players, however, second -year or juniors and the whole unit that are new to each other are missing the team for long -term continuity. The leadership of the older, experienced transfers will be of the utmost importance in setting the culture and accelerating the learning curve for a team that must immediately build chemistry.
The Hoyas will represent the United States on the Globl Jam Under-23 Tournament in Toronto 13-17 August. Fans wait patiently for information about our broadcast.
