Samsung Galaxy S26: no more peeking at the display

In connection with the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung has predicted several interrelated novelties, the focus of which is on data protection related to the display and the renewal of the user interface. Although the company is keeping tight-lipped for the time being, official references and leaked information have already outlined what we can expect from the next high-end devices.

Data protection at display level in a new approach

Samsung is new in a blog post confirmed that in the near future it will introduce security features that manage the content displayed on the screen at the pixel level. The wording is deliberately general, but based on the company’s examples, the goal is clear: reduce the chance that unauthorized people can read sensitive data, such as passwords or access codes in public places. The system is expected to be highly customizable, so it may only work for certain apps or notifications.

Privacy Display: without film, built-in

The ‘pixel level’ protection is most likely related to the so-called Privacy Display feature, about which more concrete evidence has emerged in recent weeks. Animations, screenshots, and code snippets from early versions of One UI 8.5 all hint at the feature’s existence. The essence of Privacy Display is that When viewed from the side, the readability of the display is significantly reducedsimilar to data protection films, only in software, using the control of the panel. According to the descriptions, the mode can be activated manually, but can also be linked to automatic conditions.

New visual direction in One UI 8.5

In addition to data protection improvements, Samsung’s user interface may also change. In relation to One UI 8.5, there are increasing signs that the system will receive more transparent elements, more pronounced animations and more spectacular layering. Several sources compare this to the divisive “Liquid Glass” style introduced by Apple. The Galaxy S26 could therefore bring not only security but also appearance updates, but the details are expected to be revealed during the official presentation expected at the end of February.

This means that Samsung fits well into the industry trend in which, in addition to hardware developments, increasing emphasis is placed on software, coordinated solutions that are not necessarily spectacular, but can provide a noticeable advantage in daily use.
