Sam Querrey, the former number 11 player in the PIF ATP ranking list who founded a striking media career after his retirement of the ATP tour, participated in the Cincinnati Open 14 times. The American never saw the ATP Masters 1000 event as it is today after a groundbreaking transformation of $ 260 million.
“Blown away. Every small detail is perfect here,” said Querrey Atptour.com. “From the fan experience to the player experience to the changing rooms to the courts. Players will be blown away and the fans will be blown away.”
The 10-time Titlist recently visited the Lindner Family Tennis Center with Alison Riske-Amritraj and Shelby Rogers to take a look at the work that was done at the facility last year, and they were all awe during their tournament with Tournament Ben Navarro, Tournament Bob Moran.
Querrey does not remember much of his tournament debut in 2006, besides believing that it was “great”. Almost two decades later, the event took up several steps.
“It was my first Masters series, and at that time 2006 I thought it was great,” said Querrey. “But now, considering how far it got almost 20 years later, you can’t even recognize the two facilities. This is the new Golden Standard for Masters series around the world.”
When Querrey was a player, he liked that the Cincinnati Open was an event where he would have a rental car and drive to various chain restaurants, making it felt like home. That is still the case, but now the location on location is at a completely new level.
“The food, dining area for the players will now be as good as it becomes,” said Querrey. “Many of these tournaments, even this one in the past, there would be a lounge where you could hang around, and it was sometimes fine. But it now feels like it has five or six different lounges in the dressing room, in the restaurants, a designated lounge and the recovery rooms. [There are] So many options for players to go and hang and chill. ”
Querrey, a winner of 385 matches on touring level matches according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, explained that the new aesthetics is also attractive. “It’s like it got a facelift in a perfect way,” he said.
“Every attention to detail, every small thing is upgraded here. It is not as if they have left [things and said]”Oh, here is a bank of four exercise courts that is still there.” No. They are all new. They all have stands. The player’s player is all new, the changing rooms are all new. No square foot land or building here is untouched.
“It has exceeded my expectations. I only expected a general facelift, maybe a new building or two, not everything. So I just blown away.”
