The Milwaukee Bucks have tried to make their schedule again this season in the hope of competing for a title around Giannis Antetokounmpo, but his future with the franchise remains uncertain, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
“Sources tell me that nothing has been put in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will remain in Milwaukee, or that he will leave,” said Charania. “And so he continues to evaluate his future. I reported it in mid -May that he is evaluating whether his best fit is in Milwaukee, or is it elsewhere? And that process continues.
“There have been a number of very real conversations last week. The constant question that Giannis has is:” Can I win a championship with this schedule? Is this schedule the one for this coming year and 2026-27? ” He wants to win a second championship.
Charania was asked why the process continues for Antetokounmpo in August instead of the end of June or early July.
“However, this is a very difficult decision for him,” said Charania. “This is 12 years that he has spent there. There is a lot of fairness there. He has won a championship there. This kind of move will not be easy because this is a Milwaukee Bucks organization. They went out and they extended themselves and were abandoned by Damian Lillard $ 13 million. They did everything to show you. ‘ But Giannis Antetokounmpo is the ultimate decision maker or he thinks this schedule is good enough. “
Antetokounmpo, who still had a top 3 MVP finish in 2024-25, has two extra seasons about his contract.
