Liverpool head coach Arne Slot insists the last thing he is worried about is Mohamed Salah ending his goal drought.
The Egypt international has failed to find the net in his last six appearances for the club and appears to be missing his usual edge.
He has scored just three goals this season, one of which was a penalty, and was limited to a 16-minute substitute appearance in the midweek Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, there has been a drop in production since March, with just five goals in 23 games.
Wednesday’s victory ended Liverpool’s worst run of results since 2014 and whether that was partly a result of Salah’s form or the other way around remains up for debate, but Slot has no doubt.
“I don’t know if it’s sharpness or not. It’s so difficult, I could think of a few reasons that I’m not sure are the reasons,” the Reds boss said.
“Generally in football players miss chances and Mo is human too. We are not used to him missing chances, let alone a few in a row, but these things can happen.”
“It’s easier to finish a chance when you’re 3-1 up than when you’re 1-0 down, but maybe that doesn’t apply to him.
“But the most important thing is that Mo has always scored goals for our club and the last thing I worry about is that Mo will score goals again.
“That is what he has done all his life and that is what I expect from him in the coming weeks and months for our club.”
The £450 million influx of new players in the summer has led to some teething problems and Salah has been a victim like everyone else.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure to Real Madrid in the summer, combined with injuries, has meant that Slot has already deployed three different right-backs, including midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
“I think [Mo] has been in promising positions often enough to be able to score goals, but maybe with Trent even more – I don’t know,” the Dutchman added.
“But in general, for every player, if you have quite a few changes in your selection during the summer, everyone has to find new connections.
“Mo is no exception to this and maybe it has something to do with that.

“In an ideal world you play every match with the same team, but that is not realistic for a team that plays every three days.
“Even if you wanted to, that’s not possible as Jeremy Frimpong has been in and out with injuries a few times, Conor Bradley has had injuries, never mind Mac Allister has missed pre-season and Alex has too.”
Slot and Salah hope that Saturday’s evening trip to Brentford can be the turning point.
The Bees are one of the 33-year-old striker’s favorite opponents, scoring six goals in seven appearances.
Frimpong and goalkeeper Alisson will definitely miss the match with hamstring injuries, while Slot awaits updates on Isak, who suffered a groin injury in midweek, and midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who did not travel to Germany due to an ankle injury.
