England in Maya le Tissier was ‘buzzing’ to find out that the brother of teammate Alessia Russo came in de Love Island Villa.
Giorgio Russo has become a member of the ITV2 reality show, located in a Majorcan Villa, as one of the four new ‘Bombshells’.
Alessia has started preparations for the European Championship, in which England accepts France in their first game on July 5, but Giorgio may not see his sister in action when he starts his journey in the TV program.
The lion ribbons gathered in St George’s Park for their Euro camp and most of them discovered the news on Monday morning.
Le Tissier admitted that she is not looking at the show, but will coordinate to see Alessia’s brother.
She said: “That is the only question that I have been asked so far! I walked into SGP (St George’s Park) this morning and Alessia went so normal (showed the phone over her brother in the villa).
“I was so shocked. I was so buzzing for Giorgio. He is such a sweet guy and such a great family, so hopefully he will do it well and he enjoys it.
“It’s cool. I haven’t looked at it yet, but I’m going to see it now.”
Giorgio was over in Portugal to encourage his sister in the Champions League final when Arsenal defeated Barcelona to lift the trophy, but will not be present to do the same in Switzerland if he lasts long enough in the show.
Alessia’s Arsenal teammate Beth Mead said that all players will sit together to view the show.
Mead said Sky Sports: “I was excited for him. I love Giorgio, he is a good boy and I look forward to seeing what he is doing in the villa.

Another teammate of Lionesses, Grace Clinton, made jokes about Giorgio who missed the euros.
She said: “I’ll look, I’ll certainly look at that.
“We’re going to have it in the meeting room tonight. I’m just joking. No, it’s exciting, it’s funny.
“I think Alessia thinks it is funny. He will clearly not come to Switzerland, I will take it?”
