Washington:

The American State Secretary Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that the number of visas he has withdrawn was probably in thousands, adding that he believed that there was more to do.

The administration of Republican President Donald Trump has tried to improve deportations and withdraw student visa as part of the broad efforts to fulfill his hardline immigration agenda.

“I don’t know the last count, but we probably have more to do,” Rubio told a subcommittee of the Senate Credits that supervises Foreign Affairs.

Asked to give an estimate, he said it was probably in the thousands at the moment, an increase from March, when he said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may have withdrawn more than 300 visas.

Rubio said that the 300 withdrawn Visa were a combination of student and visitor visa. He said he had signed every action.

“A visa is not a right. It’s a privilege,” said Rubio Tuesday.

Trump-administration officials have said that student visa and green cardholders are subject to deportation about their support for Palestinians and criticism of Israel’s behavior in Gaza’s war, so that their actions are called a threat to American foreign policy and accused them of Pro-Hamas.

Trump’s critics have mentioned the effort an attack on the rights of freedom of expression under the first amendment of the US Constitution.

“I know that this will be assessed in court, but the idea that a person throws their opinion about someone’s future activity or expected activity … The visa of someone seems to me to be an extraordinary violation of the right process,” Democratic senator Jeff Merkley told Rubio during the hearing.

Earlier this month, a student of Tufts University from Turkey was held for more than six weeks in an Immigration Detment Center in Louisiana after co-writing of an opinion piece that criticized the reaction of her school to Israel’s war in Gaza. She was released from detention after a federal judge granted her bail.

US District Judge William Sessions During a hearing in Burlington, Vermont, ordered the immediate release of Rumeysa Ozturk, which is central to one of the best profile things come from the Trump campaign to deposit Pro-Palestinian activists on American campuses.
