UFC Middenweight Brad Tavares will come to UFC Paris in search of a win racing on Saturday, but he will have to do it against Robert Bryczek who wants to bounce back from a rough debut.
Tavares (21-10) In April, in the fight against a decision victory at Gerald Meerschaert. The 26-Fight UFC veteran hopes to find some consistency after a very up and down in recent years.
Bryczek (17-6) lost the last time-out a difficult decision against Ihor Potieria. The Octagon MMA veteran will have a second chance at his UFC debut against Tavares in Paris.
Round 1 – Bryczek put the pressure on Tavares who chose to invest damage to the body while Tavares shot Jabs from the top. Bryczek continued his attack on the body, but then landed a big shot to drop Tavares and then went for the finish.
Tavares was able to grab him and slow down the attacks to buy themselves time to recover. Bryczek did not give him much time, although he landed a big shot to hurt the middleweight. Tavares, who pulled out of his experienced experience, shot shot and then double -legged Bryczek to the ground in the top position.
Round ended with Tavares on the upper landing short shots on the head, but it was more about recovering and reaching the next round.
Round 2 – Bryczek came again with the pressure attack, but picked his shots. Bryczek continued to follow Tavares who clearly set him up for a Takedown attempt. It came, but it was filled.
Bryczek looked like he was trying to put Tavares on the fence to leave some offense, but Tavares was quite mobile around the cage. It seemed as if Bryczek was in energy -saving mode and Tavares took advantage of that time to score on his opponent.
Tavares held up with 1-2 comboes up and bone kicks, but Bryczek was not backwards. This dance continued with the rest of the round with Tavares who apparently took a circular round that went to the third.
Round 3 – Bryczek went back to more pressure to start and land on Tavares, but the latter was now clearly in the rhythm and landed some damage to the legs and body that Bryczek clearly felt.
Bryczek left when he got Tavares close to the fence and hurt the middleweight. Tavares went on his knees and Bryczek swung until the referee called the fight.
Tavares protested against the finish, but Bryczek walked away.
