The legal drama based on John Grisham’s novel is heading into a second season.

Legal drama The rainmaker, based on the novel by John Grisham, has been renewed for a second season.

From showrunner and executive producer Michael Seitzman, the series stars Milo Callaghan (Dune: Prophesy) and John Slattery (Crazy men).

“The verdict is in – The Rainmaker returns for season two on USA Network,” said Val Boreland, President, Entertainment, Versant. “Together with our brilliant showrunner Michael Seitzman and our partners at Lionsgate and Blumhouse, we are excited to build on the momentum and deliver another compelling chapter of this gripping legal drama for our viewers.”

Season one centers on Rudy Baylor (Callaghan), fresh out of law school, and pitted against courtroom lion Leo Drummond (Slattery) and his law student Sarah. Rudy, along with his boss, Bruiser, and her befuddled paralegal, Deck, uncover two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son.

The cast also includes Lana Parrilla (Once upon a time, Lincoln’s lawyer), Madison smile (I know what you did last summer), PJ Byrne (Babylon), Dan Fogler (The offer), Wade Briggs (Are dark materials), and Robyn Cara (Bodkin).

The Rainmaker screens in Australia on Stan.
