The Cincinnati Reds attack did not do much on Sunday, but they did just enough thanks to excellent pitching to pick up a 1-0 win over Chicago while wiping the Cubs in a 4-game series. The victory combined with a loss of the New York Mets brings the two teams a draw for the last wildcard spot in the National League while the regular season goes to the last week.

The game was relatively quiet to the top of the 3rd inning. That is the moment when the Cubs received back-to-back singles to start the collection, but Andrew Abbott could work out of the jam and keep the game scoreless. The bottom of the inning saw the Reds come through with the first run of the game and got double from Matt McLain and Gavin Lux to set Cincinnati with 1-0.
Andrew Abbott threw a shutout 4th inning and came back for the 5th and only needed three throws to get the first two from the frame. But Ian Happ hit a single to expand the inning and owed right-handed Seiya Suzuki, manager Terry Frrancona called the Bullpen to the Bullpen to bring Nick Martinez to get a right-wing right-wing competition.
The relocation worked when Martinez turned Suzuki to end the inning and to undergo the runner. Then he would throw two perfect innings and send the game to the 8th inning with the Reds that still held a 1-run lead. Graham Ashcraft took over from that and worked around a bloop single to keep the lead.
After Cincinnati went in order of the 8th inning, the Reds called to the Bullpen to bring Tony Santillan to try to close the game. The inning did not work out when Santillan Moises Ballesteros ran on five throws. He would return from there to get a lazy fly from the bat from Dansby Swanson. Chicago then went to the couch to bring in Willi Castro to squeeze it for Justin Turner. Ashcraft would stand out Castro, but walked off Michael Busch to push the equal point to the second and push the go-ahead run to the first.
This resulted in a hill visit by Pitching coach Derek Johnson when Pete Crow-Armstrong was on the way to the album. Santillan would express him to end the game and help the Reds complete a 4-game sweep of the Cubs.
Important moment of the game
Tony Santillan spread Pete Crow-Armstrong to end the binding and go-ahead runs to end the game.
Notes worth mentioning
The New York Mets lost and if the Reds make the play -offs about them through a game or on the basis of a draw, then they owe Jacob Young what he asks them while the Nationals Outfielder made two incredible catches in the game. With the victory, the Reds now control their own destination for the play -offs with six more games to play.
The match on Saturday against Milwaukee has a new starting time. Fox used their option to select the game as the National game of the Week. That pushes the planned start time until 7:15 pm.
