Not just because it has the history and the fan base, but because it is a brilliant story waiting to be told.”

“You’ve got the glorious past, the fall from grace, all the hardships under Chansiri and the club almost going under. Then new owners come in and try to bring them back to the Premier League after a quarter of a century. Add in some famous directors and that’s something people all over the world would want to see.”

Henrik Pedersen was chosen as head coach in the summer after the departure of Danny Rohl. Prior to his appointment, he worked alongside Chris Powell as part of Rohl’s backroom staff team before moving into a full-time position.

What next for Sheffield Wednesday?

Sheffield Wednesday have been out of the Premier League for too long and have the fanbase and catchment area to provide a strong boost to the top flight when their new era begins. SWFC is back in action after the international break against Sheffield United at home.

The Owls lost 3-1 at Southampton last time. Manchester United loanee Harry Amass got their goal against the Saints in Hampshire but they could get nothing more out of the game.

Before this campaign started, Sheffield Wednesday saw a host of key players on the way out, including the likes of Josh Windass, Anthony Musaba and Djeidi Gassama, decimating their ranks. They were ultimately only able to land Amass and goalkeeper Ethan Horvath, while Joe Lumley was recently signed on an emergency deal before returning to Bristol City.

Pedersen’s men will lack confidence, despite their combative performances. They need help and will have to be at their best if they want to achieve anything against Sheffield United this weekend.
