Continue with the good news as more studios open throughout the country, now the picturesque city of Bakewell in the Peak District will enjoy his first yoga center.

After having traveled the world for almost three decades as Flight Service Manager at Virgin Atlantic, Bakewell resident Marie Kirkwood has exchanged long-distance flights for a new company opening Peak District Yoga Studio, the very first dedicated yoga studio of the city.

“During my 28-year career that flew with Virgin Atlantic, I discovered that Yoga was the perfect antidote for the requirements of travel-me to overcome Jetlag and keep my well-being by years of long-distance flying,” says Kirkwood.

The new studio opening is an addition to and grows its existing local yoga activities that have flourished in recent years.

“For the past seven years I have successfully cultivated Peak District Yoga In addition to my aviation career, offering outdoor lessons, private 1: 1 sessions, yoga walks and retreats in the beautiful Peak District. Now, while I put my wings completely to teaching yoga.

The studio offers different classes in an intimate setting every day. With a maximum of only 10 people per class, sessions are designed to feel personally, hospitable and accessible to everyone, from complete beginners to experienced yogis.

In addition to the new timetable of the daily studio, Peak District Yoga continues to offer private sessions, yoga for groups in holiday homes and guided yoga walks in the National Park – creating a unique mix of indoor and outdoor welfare.
