Rasmus Hojlund seems to be achieving a form for Manchester United at the right time, where the club is currently trying to recruit another striker.

Last season the Dane seemed great and managed a meager four Premier League goals All Campaign. And with the lack of options at hand, Ruben Amorim was forced to keep playing.

Apart from his struggles for the goal, the 22-year-old did not succeed in impressing his back-to-goal game and all the signs pointed to a summer exit.

But he started strongly against West Ham in the preseason, before he found the back of the net against Bournemouth on Thursday. As a result, Ineos have not yet asked him to leave, with the Denmark International wanting to fight for his place.

After missing different goals, Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig was identified as the go-to option in the market thanks to the insistence of Christopher Vivell, although the head coach of Ollie Watkins had wanted.

Should the Slovenian arrive, it is expected that the ex-Atalanta-Aas would probably leave with reports from a Swap deal that would get a grip.

But Sun Have a different story to tell. They have claimed that Amorim wants the United No.9 to remain and feels that Sesko’s arrival will only help him to improve.

“But Amorim also believes that the presence of Sesko will prove that Rasmus Hejlund requires to overcome his doubts and grow up in an alternative to top class.

“Amorim is supposed to feel the lack of competition in the front with which Hojlund was confronted to what De Dane admits was a ‘difficult’ season.

“Knowing that he has to fight for playing time against Sesko will force Hojlund out of his comfort zone and benefit both the former Atalanta striker and United.

“It is why the manager is preferred to stay in the club, instead of leaving – although the Dane gets the right to make his own decisions about his future.”

The added competition will encourage him at greater heights is the thinking of the head coach. Whether that will only be the case.

Much will depend on the final asking price of Leipzig and whether United Sesko can pay without resorting to the sale of the Danish bait.
