Manchester United has missed a bargain to sign a long -term objective at Old Trafford after Tottenham Hotspur had reached an agreement for the 6’3 powerhouse, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Joao Palhinha is a player United is strongly connected in recent years after he had settled as an excellent defensive midfielder for Fulham.
Earlier, the Portugal International had played for Braga and Sporting CP under the supervision of none other than the head coach of Red Devils, Ruben Amorim.
Palhinha joined Bayern Munich last year in a deal worth £ 47.4 million after a brilliant campaign from 2023/24 for Fulham. However, he was unable to translate this form into Craven Cottage on the big stage of the Allianz Arena.

A missed opportunity for United
United is looking for a new midfielder this summer, where Amorim has stated the need for more speed in the middle of the field after watching the frustrating 0-0 draw with leeds with leeds in the preseason.
But the majority of the budget is aimed at the gloomy attacking unit with deals that have already been agreed for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, in total more than £ 130 million, and a similar priced striving for Benjamin Sesko.
This has left little financial rinsing space to sign a midfielder – which makes the Loan of Spurs from Palhinha such a missed opportunity.
Ineos could have protected a seasoned veteran with experience in the Premier League and, more importantly, the system of Amorim in a cost-effective deal to support a porous midfield unit.
Instead, the same option now plays for one of the domestic rivals of the club. A stone remained really undisturbed.
