Manchester United streamed their team in the summer after an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign where they ended 15th in the Premier League.
One of the biggest problems of the Red Devils last season was scoring goals, where the team found only 44 times the back of the net in 38 games in the competition.
Rasmus Hojlund was the center of the attack among former manager Erik ten Hag, as well as his replacement, Ruben Amorim, but could not impress.
Hojlund would end the season with only 10 goals of 52 games in different games.
The Amorim team could not score in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur and lost the game 1-0, giving a bleak end to a terrible season.

Strengthening the front line was one of United’s primary focus this summer, with Amorim determined to tackle its goalscing problems.
United would eventually invest around £ 200 million to secure a flashy new attacking Trident. In Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford came, perhaps two of the best players in the competition last season.
The Red Devils also signed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig to lead the line in the Theater of Dreams. But the arrival of the Slovenian meant the end of Hojlund’s stay in the club.
Interestingly, the Danish striker was apparently told that he is excess for the requirements after the defeat against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup second stage.
Hojlund would eventually conclude a loan agreement to Napoli, who has the obligation to buy it next summer for £ 38 million if they succeed in qualifying for the Champions League of next season. However, it now seems that the 22 -year -old this summer was not the first choice of the Serie A Champions.
Napoli Wilde Francesco Pio Esposito
According to Libero via Fcinter1908Napoli originally wanted Inter Milan’s Francesco Pio Esposito to replace Romelu Lukaku, who had sustained an injury in the preseason. Antonio Conte reportedly wanted the young Italian striker to fill the boots of Lukaku in Naples.
Pio Esposito lent on loan last season through series B Side Spezia Calcio and registered 20 goals of 42 games in all competitions.
Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis was apparently open to securing the Italian young person after this impressive campaign and was willing to offer more than € 40 million. United was even linked to a movement for the 20-year-old attacker.
However, the move never came out, to Naples or Manchester, and Pio Esposito finally stayed in the San Siro.
The couple then focused their attention on Hojlund and praise him away from United. The Red Devils are said to have included a 5% Sell-on clause in the player’s deal if the purchase clause is activated.
Hojlund has already scored one goal of two games for Napoli, and United is now sure that he will remain permanent with Napoli.
