Arcadia, California-Santa Anita Park has a top collection of racing officials that leads its 2025 autumn, which opens on Friday 26 September and runs five weeks to Sunday 26 October. The emphasis of the 16 -day stand is a robust schedule of the stakes with seven “win and you’re in” qualifications for this year’s breed cup.

Locked to return for another season in the stand of the Santa Anita Steward are the California Horse Racing Board-Appointes Grant Baker, Luis Jauregui and Kim Sawyer. The safety steward is David Neusch, who will also rotate in the stand of the stewards in the bottom of the stewards.

For Baker this is being 28one years as a steward. The resident of California first served in Idaho from 1997-2000 and then returned to his home the following year to continue his steward tasks. Since his first Stint in Santa Anita in 2015, Baker has been a fixture in the stewards stand in recent years.

“It is really an honor to officer on such an iconic circuit as Santa Anita,” said Baker. “Santa Anita shows some of the best horses in the country, the best jockeys and best trainers in what is just a beautiful surroundings. Looking at those mountains never gets old.”

Sawyer is a former jockey and trainer with more than two decades of steward experience. She started her career in 2001 in Thistledown, where she was noticed as the first female steward in the state of Ohio. Sawyer has been located in California since 2005.

Jauregui is a former jockey that rode more than 8,000 races from 1988 to 2006. In 2009, the Chrb Jauregui appointed the role of Safety Steward, a newly created position and the first of its kind in the nation. Since then he has been established for more than ten years in the stand of Santa Anita Stewards.

Keep leading to the racing party is Jason Egan, who was elevated to the role of Santa Anita Director of Racing and Racing Secretary in January 2023. Prior to his current position, the former trainer was the racing coordinator of Santa Anita since 2020.

Participating in Egan in the racing office are the current racing coordinator Steve Martinelli, assistant racing secretary Zachary Soto and Stakes coordinator James Kasparoff.

Martinelli was appointed racing coordinator in August 2023 after he was previously served as a racing secretary at Golden Gate Fields. Soto is a former trainer and old match in California Racing Offices, while Kasparoff is also a former trainer who has been the deployment coordinator of Santa Anita since the fall of 2018.

Kevin Colosi has been set up for another year as Clerk of Scales, which will be helped again by old assistant clerk of Scales Charles McCaul. The clerk of the course is Linda Ramirez; Jennifer Paige is the Horse Identifier; And the Horseshoe Inspector is Victor Tovar.

Jay Slender will be on his usual mail as a starter, Dane Nelson will again serve as a timer, and Horse Racing Nation Will set the morning line.

The patrol judges are Jesus Calvillo Jr. and Randy Valdez, with Calvillo Jr. Also planned to serve as Paddock Judge. The three placement of jury members are veterans Brice Blanc, Karen Denovel and Bob Moreno.
