The Queensbury volleyball team earned first place and the top seed for the upcoming Foothills Council tournament on Thursday with a 25-9, 25-10, 25-10 victory over Amsterdam.
Brooke Anderson scored 11 kills, Hailey LaLuna finished with eight digs and Hannah Blanchard served four aces for the Spartans, who improved to 8-0 in the competition, 14-2 overall.
South Glens Falls took second place with a 25-10, 25-13, 25-21 sweep of Scotia, while Charlotte McDonough recorded nine kills, five blocks, five aces and eight points. The Bulldogs (7-1, 8-2) got 13 kills from Adie Darrah, and 20 digs, 11 points and five aces from Natalie Young.
Queensbury also took first place in the Foothills in girls soccer, rolling to a 7-0 loss to Gloversville as Julianna Percetti and Mia Keshmiri each finished with two goals and one assist.

CAMBRIDGE-SALEM 57, RENSSELAER 8: Abe Cushing and Preston Peabody each rushed for a pair of touchdowns, and Myles Mattson and Lucas Nolan added pick-sixes to lead CS to a Class D win Thursday night.
Cambridge-Salem improved to 3-1 in Class D, 5-1 overall.
Stephen Yakubec completed a 61-yard scoring pass to Kolin Rowland, and Jackson Rowland scored on a 79-yard run in the first quarter as Cambridge-Salem jumped to a 27-0 lead. CS led 45-0 at halftime.
Yakubec completed 4 of 5 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown, and Kolin Rowland had two catches for 111 yards.
Mattson returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown before halftime, and Nolan returned one for 40 yards in the fourth quarter. Sawyer Saddlemire also ran for a score for CS.
