The Queen classic has now spent 10 weeks on the official vinyl album chart and 30 weeks on the official album sales chart. The project has achieved the most stays on the official physical album chart, where it now stands at 37 turns over the years.

Queen dropped this special version of An evening at the opera as part of National Album Daya British music industry initiative created to showcase the album as an art form and give labels and musicians the opportunity to release specialty products that can generate much-needed physical revenue.

Queen’s fourth album, An evening at the operaarrived in November 1975. Although the group had already achieved commercial success in Britain at that point, the project – which blended rock, metal and pop into something truly unique and new – propelled the group to the No. 1 position on the Official Albums Chart for the very first time.
In the years that followed An evening at the opera arrived, many call it Queen’s best album, largely due to the enormous popularity of its two singles. “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “You are my best friend” were over half a year apart, and they became hugely successful in their own right, boosting sales An evening at the opera.

Two other compilations from Queen each appear on at least one ranking list. The Bohemian rhapsody set, which accompanied the film of the same name, drops a few spots on the official soundtrack album chart to No. 21. At the same time, the simply named Greatest hits appears in the official albums list, as well as in the official albums streaming and official album downloads lists.
