Cheap wings and beer are served one last time in the Pub on Pearl this Sunday, before the place closes forever at midnight.
“Every moment that you are served throughout the years, cherished, from Thursday evening wing evenings to Iowa Hawkeye -games and every day in between,” De Bar on Facebook posted Tuesday evening.
The neighborhood joint on 1101 S. Pearl St. in the West Wash Park district of Denver worked for 35 years. Dani Baer, owner of the bar, did not respond on Wednesday to the request of Businessden to comment.
There is a long history of bars on the location, which extends over the corner of Mississippi Avenue and Pearl Street just north of Interstate 25. For a long time, Denverites perhaps the corner pub, which worked there in the decades before the pub on Pearl.
The property is the property of Ken Fukayama, a pilot in Denver at various aviation companies, who bought it for $ 1.9 million in June 2019, according to public archives.
Fukayama, who did not respond to a request for comment, mentioned the building for sale a few months ago.
“A large part of the added value of our offer was that lease (for the Pearl),” said Blue West Capital Broker Josh Lorenzen, who is launching real estate in addition to Robert Edwards.
The pub has left for almost four years to its lease, according to mention material. It pays $ 6,600 per month on rent for its location of 2,825 square foot, which is $ 28 per square foot annually. It has a gross rental agreement, which means that it does not pay real estate tax or other landlord costs that are usually passed on to commercial tenants.
“With the market lease below no longer in place, an owner can immediately maximize the value as soon as the space has to be submitted again,” Lorenzen added.
Five other tenants are in the building: a nail salon, a hair salon, a fitness studio, an insurance agency and a barber shop.
There is also a sister bar in Cap Hill, called the Pub on Penn. It was opened in 2010 by “some people” behind the Pearl Street operation, according to earlier reporting from Westword.
